Shalamar Iris Outlaw is a mother, writer, and seeker of faith.
After the heartbreaking loss of her daughter, Olivia, to a rare brain disease, BPAN, Shalamar and her husband Keith chose to let go of material possessions and embrace a new way of living.
They spent a year and a half at the base of Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs before relocating to Costa Rica, seeking peace and guidance from the Lord.
In addition to writing her autobiographical story, Girl Named Outlaw, which shares her journey of grief, healing, and deepening faith in Christ, Shalamar published Monarch in March 2024.
Monarch is a poetry collection that serves as an allegory of salvation, told through the lens of a caterpillar, capturing the journey of spiritual awakening, struggle, and ultimate rebirth. The book is currently available for purchase on Amazon and Barnes & Noble online.

Coming Together with Moms Events
Coming together with mothers who love the Lord and want Him to use them to help other mothers who like themselves, have lived through the devastation of their child’s death? Imagine the light these mothers can bring into that dark place of loss that so many endure each day without the understanding of someone who has been there.
This coming together is to lift up, bringing a smile to a face that has endured far too many tears. This group provides a link to a future that cannot be imagined from the depths of despair.
The sharing of faith as well as bright memories and photos, aid in clearing away the debris of guilt, anger, or depression, to focus on the strength that coming together with an understanding friend can bring.
