A message of HOPE … Is my child in Heaven with Jesus?
August 5, 2020Isaiah 55:8, 9 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.'"
In this ministry we hear so many heartbreaking stories. Just when you think you have heard the worst, you then encounter a mom whose story is beyond anything you could ever imagine dealing with. At times it is so hard to not feel a sense of confusion and hopelessness. This is a fallen world and it is made so clear to me in the many stories of heartbroken moms. I want to call out to God and ask, “ Why, Lord? What sense does this make? What purpose could there be and what good could ever come out of this?” It is when I feel like I have heard all the sadness and heartbreak I can take, that I feel the Lord remind me of a mother I once knew who called out to God. “Lord, why? What purpose or good could come from Your taking Katie? How will I go on?” I no longer know that mom. She has since come to understand the Lord’s words, “My ways are not yours, and my ways are far beyond what you could have imagined.” The Lord has placed me here in a ministry with other women who are walking through one of the hardest things to deal with, the death of their child. We see the fallen world evident in each mom we meet, but we also get to see the miracle of a transformed mom who once again understands she has a purpose beyond the life of her child. We see hope and we see firsthand what a kind and loving Father can do even when things seem so senseless to us.
Lord, I thank You so much for Your word and how, in a moment, it can bring comfort and peace
